TWO DIFFERENT MEASURES

Two Measures of Exceptional Saffron.

Extra Super Negin describes the selection and presentation of the whole threads. ISO Category I records the laboratory performance of the tested saffron.

THREAD SELECTION

Extra Super Negin

A commercial selection term for long, thick, all-red stigmas with minimal yellow style and few broken pieces. It describes appearance and presentation.

LAB CLASSIFICATION

ISO Category I

A laboratory classification based on specified parameters including colour strength, flavour, aroma, moisture and physical purity. It describes the measured tested sample.

Together, careful whole-thread selection and independent measurement provide a complete picture of quality.

LABORATORY EVIDENCE

The Results Behind the Claim.

The final laboratory report classified the tested saffron as Category I against ISO 3632 parameters. Crocin 295.8 and picrocrocin 114.2 demonstrate exceptional colour and flavour strength, supported by a defined aromatic profile.

CROCIN · COLOUR

295.8 Category I minimum: 200 47.9% above the minimum

PICROCROCIN · FLAVOUR

114.2 Category I minimum: 70 63.1% above the minimum

SAFRANAL · AROMA

33.5 Category I aroma specification met Measured aroma profile

QUALITY QUESTIONS

How the Quality Is Verified.

Clear answers about thread selection, Category I classification and the exact laboratory results.

What does Category I mean?

Category I is the highest classification reported in the laboratory certificate. It reflects measured performance across colour strength, flavour, aroma, moisture and physical purity.

Is Extra Super Negin the same as Category I?

Extra Super Negin describes the thread selection and presentation. Category I records laboratory performance. Together they show both the quality of the whole threads and the strength measured in the tested sample.

What do the three headline results show?

Crocin 295.8 shows exceptional colour strength and picrocrocin 114.2 shows strong flavour performance; both sit well above the Category I minimums printed in the report. Safranal 33.5 records the tested sample’s aroma measurement within the Category I specification.

Can I read the complete laboratory report?

Yes. The full report is available on our Lab Test page, including the measured results used on this page.
