Frequently Asked Questions
You've Got Any Questions?
Afghanistan’s high-altitude climate, cold nights, and mineral-rich soil create ideal conditions for growing high-quality saffron. These environmental factors are associated with strong aroma, rich colour, and well-developed saffron compounds, which contribute to its reputation as one of the world’s most sought-after saffron origins.
Pure saffron threads are deep red with slightly orange tips and have a natural, sweet floral aroma. When placed in warm water, pure saffron releases colour gradually rather than dissolving instantly or producing artificial dye.
Our saffron is sourced from our partners who conduct ISO 3632 testing to assess purity, colour strength, and aroma.
Saffron has traditionally been valued for its role in wellbeing and is naturally rich in antioxidants. Modern research continues to explore saffron’s compounds, such as crocin and safranal, and their association with mood support and overall vitality when enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.
Store saffron in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from light, heat, and moisture. Proper storage helps preserve aroma, colour, and flavour over time
A small amount goes a long way. For most dishes, a few threads are enough. Soak the threads in warm water, milk, or broth for 10–15 minutes to release their full flavour and colour before adding them to your recipe.
Our saffron is sourced from carefully selected farms in Afghanistan, a region known for its ideal growing conditions and long-standing saffron cultivation traditions.
